About

meKrizia Carr is a third generation Circus Performer, second generation Flying Trapeze Artist. She was born in Sarasota, Florida (The Circus Capital of the World) and began her career on the Flying Trapeze at the tender age of 5 yrs old. She has performed in many countries around the world with many different Circuses. Her parents are from Colombia, South America, and came to the United States on a contract for Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus in the 1970’s. Both parents, Miguel & Luz Caceres, were Flying Trapeze Artists as well. Miguel was an amazing Flying Trapeze Artist and worked with Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus for many years forming The Flying Caceres. He was the first person in the world to ever catch a “Triple Somersault” and a “Triple and a half Somersault” consecutively in a single performance! This was an extraordinary feat because, to this day, most Flying Trapeze Artists can only do one or the other because it causes major confusion.

Krizia’s brother, George Caceres, now carries The Flying Caceres name. Krizia and George were both born on that show, which in the circus industry makes them “Ringling Babies” (however, this is merely a term used to denote where they were at the time of their birth; they were born in actual hospitals) Shortly after Krizia’s birth, as soon as she was ready to leave the hospital, her mother went back on Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus to rejoin her father & brother with the newest edition to the Caceres family (Krizia) and live on the Circus Train while touring the U.S.

Although this lifestyle Krizia was born into has taken her to many places around the world, it has come with a price. Being a performer is very demanding, difficult, and stressful. Not only to the body, but to the mind as well. Especially in her particular field. Constant practice and training is required in order to be the best one can be, which is the price all Trapeze Artists (as well as many other performers) must pay if one is to succeed in this business. As a result, she grew up much quicker than the average child simply because she was raised in a hard working environment where everyone had to do their part; so having a normal childhood was very difficult. Nevertheless, being a performer in the circus has allowed her to see many different places and meet many different people which can be a very humbling experience when growing up. Krizia now continues on the path that was chosen for her by her family not because she is forced to, but because she chooses to. Krizia is truly grateful that she can inspire someone and make them smile through her performances. It is an honor for her to be part of a Circus Dynasty. After all, how many people can say that?
